Navotas Landfill Fire: Air Quality in Metro Manila Remains Stable, Says PhilSA

The Philippine Space Agency (PhilSA) has reported that air quality across Metro Manila has remained unchanged since the outbreak of a fire at the Navotas landfill. Despite the blaze, which has been burning for several days, monitoring data indicates no significant deterioration in the region's air quality.

In a statement, PhilSA explained that satellite observations and ground-based sensors show pollutant levels within normal ranges. The agency continues to monitor the situation closely, assuring the public that there is no immediate health risk from the fire.

Local authorities are working to contain the landfill fire, which started on Tuesday. Firefighters are using a combination of soil and water to suppress the flames. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
