Former NBA swingman Trevor Ariza, who amassed over $116 million in career earnings, has revealed in court filings that his current monthly income is a modest four-figure sum as he battles his ex-wife in a divorce-related financial dispute.
According to an income and expense declaration obtained by TMZ, Ariza reports earning an average of $6,000 per month working as a trainer for individuals with disabilities. His most recent month brought in only $2,316. He also lists about $667 per month from investments in Buffalo Wild Wings.
Ariza, 41, says he has approximately $50,000 in cash and bank accounts and $2.5 million in real property. He lives with his girlfriend Kristy, her two children, his 14-year-old son, and his aunt.
His monthly expenses total $11,600, including $2,000 on healthcare, $2,000 on groceries, $2,000 on utilities, $500 on cleaning and laundry, $2,000 on education, $500 on clothes, and $2,000 on auto expenses and insurance. He also says he pays $7,700 in child support for children from other relationships.
The stark contrast between his NBA fortune and current income highlights the financial fallout often seen with professional athletes after retirement.
