NBI Launches Probe into New Threat Against President Marcos

The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has been ordered to investigate a fresh threat against President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr., according to officials. The directive came after authorities received intelligence reports indicating a potential security risk to the chief executive.

Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla confirmed the development, stating that the NBI is actively looking into the matter to ensure the president's safety. "We take any threat against the president very seriously," Remulla said, adding that the investigation will be thorough and swift.

The alleged threat was flagged by intelligence units, prompting immediate action from the executive branch. Details of the threat have not been disclosed to the public to avoid compromising the ongoing probe.

Presidential Security Command (PSC) has also heightened security protocols around the president. The Palace has not issued an official statement but sources say Mr. Marcos has been informed and is cooperating with security measures.

This is not the first time the president has faced threats; previous incidents have been successfully neutralized by law enforcement. The public is urged to remain calm as authorities work to resolve the situation.
