New Dinosaur Species Discovered in Thailand: A Giant from the Cretaceous

Paleontologists have identified a new species of dinosaur, Nagatitan chaiyaphumensis, from fossils unearthed in Thailand. The massive herbivore, which roamed the Earth during the Cretaceous period, exhibited sufficient unique skeletal features to be classified as a distinct species, researchers announced.

The discovery adds to the growing diversity of sauropods, the long-necked giants that dominated prehistoric landscapes. The fossils were excavated in Thailand's Chaiyaphum Province, inspiring the species name. Detailed analysis of the bones revealed anatomical differences from previously known relatives, marking this as a significant find for Southeast Asian paleontology.
