Fans of Age of Attraction noticed a glaring absence during the season one reunion: 23-year-old Pfeifer Hill was nowhere to be found. Now, the reality star is clearing the air about why she opted out of the highly anticipated sit-down, detailing her split from 43-year-old Derrick Flemming and revealing a brand-new romance.

During the reunion special—hosted by Nick Viall and Natalie Joy—it was mentioned that Pfeifer missed the taping because she was on a birthday trip to Japan. While that was factually true, Pfeifer took to TikTok shortly after the episode aired to explain that her absence was rooted in much more than a simple scheduling conflict.

"I never want to speak on a podcast that doesn't feel like an authentic choice or one that I'm not enthusiastic about," the Seattle-based graphic designer told her followers. Emphasizing that she wanted to control her own narrative without throwing shade at her former castmates or the hosts, she added, "I want the first time that I speak out about the show to be on a platform that aligns with me and is one of my choosing."

Pfeifer also took the opportunity to address her split from Derrick. During the season finale, she had tearfully agreed to uproot her life in Washington and move to Dallas, Texas, to make it work with the father of two. However, the romance fizzled out just a month after the cameras stopped rolling.

At the reunion, a solo Derrick explained that their lifestyle differences ultimately proved too vast. He recalled mailing her belongings back to Seattle and realizing her neighborhood was surrounded by fraternity and sorority houses—a stark contrast to his quiet life raising a five-year-old. Despite the breakup, Pfeifer insists there is "no bad blood" between the two and that they parted amicably, telling fans she simply wanted to "protect your peace."

Protecting her peace has paid off, leading her straight into a new relationship. Pfeifer happily confirmed she is dating someone new, referring to her partner as her "best friend" and one of her life's "biggest joys." It was her new boyfriend who surprised her with the tickets to Japan, a trip she refused to postpone for the sake of reality TV press.

"I always want my boyfriend to know that our relationship is my priority—above any press, any podcast, above anything that has to do with the show," she declared in her video. "No amount of PR is worth putting our relationship second."

Though she admitted to feeling a brief pang of FOMO while watching her castmates gather without her, Pfeifer remains confident in her choice to walk away from the reality TV spotlight. As she perfectly summed it up: "I went on the show to find love, and I found love outside of the show."
