NFL coach Mike Vrabel and reporter Dianna Russini have both issued statements denying romantic involvement after photos emerged showing them together at an Arizona hotel.
Images published by Page Six depicted Vrabel, 50, and Russini, 43, hugging, appearing to dance with interlocked fingers on a hotel rooftop, and lounging together by a pool and hot tub. Both individuals are married to other people.
"These photos show a completely innocent interaction and any suggestion otherwise is laughable," Vrabel stated in response to the publication. The New England Patriots head coach, who celebrated his 26th wedding anniversary last year, added, "This doesn't deserve any further response."
Russini, an NFL reporter for The Athletic and mother of two, emphasized the photos lacked context. "The photos don't represent the group of six people who were hanging out during the day," she explained. "Like most journalists in the NFL, reporters interact with sources away from stadiums and other venues."
Her executive editor, Steven Ginsberg, defended her professionalism, stating, "These photos are misleading and lack essential context. These were public interactions in front of many people. Dianna is a premier journalist covering the NFL and we're proud to have her at The Athletic."
Both Vrabel and Russini have publicly celebrated their marriages in recent months. In September, Russini shared a tribute to her husband on Instagram for their fifth wedding anniversary, writing, "Happy Anniversary to my own parents' favorite person, and mine too."
