Nicole Kidman Embraces New Adventures and Family Life Post-Divorce

Nicole Kidman is charting a new course in her personal life, focusing on family, travel, and fresh pursuits following her divorce from Keith Urban last fall. The Oscar-winning actress, who shares two teenage daughters with Urban, is embracing this chapter with optimism and determination.

"I'm always going to be moving toward what's good," Kidman told Variety in March. "What I'm grateful for is my family and keeping them as is and moving forward. That's that."

The actress has maintained her home base in Nashville, where she and Urban raised their daughters Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 15. "We have our life here," Kidman explained. "I'm part of the city and community for 20 years. It's my home."

Her daughter Sunday Rose, who has been modeling for luxury brands like Miu Miu and Dior, recently shared how her mother's influence keeps her grounded. "My mum is a really good traveler, so she has taught me how to be one, too," Sunday told Elle Australia. "Which makes it so fun to travel and enjoy all the different places."

Kidman has certainly been putting those lessons to use, with recent trips to Chile, Antarctica, Paris, and Las Vegas for work and pleasure. After what she described as a "quiet" year due to "other things going on," the actress declared, "2026. Here we go."

"I rally against limitations," the 58-year-old continued. "I can explore all these things [through acting roles]—and I'm like that in my personal life. This year and my next few years are for the adventures."

Among those adventures are planned family trips to the Galápagos Islands and Peru to hike Machu Picchu. Kidman is also pursuing certification as a death doula, inspired by her experience caring for her mother before her passing in September 2024.

"So that's part of my expansion," she said during a talk at the University of San Francisco, "and something I'll be learning." She later noted that the training has been "really fascinating" and "very beautiful," adding that she discovered "I'm actually that personality" suited to the work.

Despite these new pursuits, Kidman has no plans to retire from acting. "I'm a worker bee," she explained. "I love to be in the world working, and I love to provide work if I can for others, and I love to do the work."

Her immediate focus, however, remains on her children. While she'd love to return to theater someday, she told Variety, "now is not the time" for such commitments. "I've got to take care of these kids. That's sort of in my 'Future' folder. I've got to fill this summer with kid stuff."

As she prepares for the September release of Practical Magic 2—"I'll be in full witch mode," she promised—Kidman continues to balance her career with her role as a mother, proving that new beginnings can be filled with both adventure and family devotion.
