Industrial rock titans Nine Inch Nails and German electronic producer Boys Noize have unveiled plans for a collaborative album, set to drop on April 17 under the moniker 'Nine Inch Noize.' The announcement, made via Instagram on April 8, comes just days before the duo's highly anticipated joint performance at Coachella 2026.
Marked as 'HALO 38'—continuing Nine Inch Nails' tradition of sequentially numbered releases—the album builds on the artists' growing creative synergy. A billboard along the route to Indio, California, has already teased the project, coinciding with their scheduled set on the Sahara stage this Saturday, April 11.
This collaboration is no surprise, given their recent history. In 2024, Boys Noize was enlisted to "deconstruct and reimagine" Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross's score for Luca Guadagnino's film Challengers. They later teamed up again for the soundtrack to TRON: Ares in 2025. Last summer, Boys Noize joined Nine Inch Nails on the UK leg of their 'Peel It Back' tour, delivering remixes from a secondary stage amidst the crowd.
As fans gear up for Coachella, the 'Nine Inch Noize' album promises to blend Nine Inch Nails' gritty, atmospheric sound with Boys Noize's pulsating electronic beats, offering a fresh chapter in both artists' storied careers.
