Nottingham Forest winger Callum Hudson-Odoi has been ordered to pay more than £1,100 after being convicted of failing to tax his McLaren 765LT supercar.
The 25-year-old Premier League player was prosecuted by the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) for keeping the luxury vehicle without a valid vehicle license. Court documents reveal that Hudson-Odoi became the registered keeper of the McLaren in February 2024, but the annual tax expired at the end of January 2025.
The DVLA stated that the car was still untaxed nine months later when it was spotted on Southmill Street in Manchester on October 29, 2024, at 8:50 AM. The agency offered Hudson-Odoi the chance to settle the matter out of court, but he did not respond.
As a result, the footballer faced criminal prosecution. He did not enter a plea and was convicted at York Magistrates' Court on April 20 in a fast-track hearing conducted in private under the Single Justice Procedure. Magistrate Karen Shackleton imposed a fine of £660, along with £410 in back tax and £85 in costs.
The conviction comes shortly after it was announced that Hudson-Odoi will miss the remainder of Forest's season due to surgery for a leg injury. The player, who joined Forest from Chelsea in 2023, has scored six goals in 43 appearances this season.
