Two foundational members of Britpop giants Oasis, bassist Paul 'Guigsy' McGuigan and drummer Alan 'Whitey' White, will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame despite their initial exclusion from the honor roll. Both musicians were integral to the band's signature sound during its 1990s commercial peak, yet their contributions were overlooked when the induction was first announced.
McGuigan, who played on the era-defining albums Definitely Maybe and (What's the Story) Morning Glory?, and White, who joined in 1995 and anchored the rhythm section through the band's most successful period, will now receive formal recognition. This correction follows significant fan and industry advocacy highlighting their crucial roles in shaping Oasis's anthemic, guitar-driven sound.
