Obsidian Veteran Claims Bethesda Criticized Fallout: New Vegas in Internal Presentation

Former Obsidian Entertainment developer Chris Avellone has made a surprising claim about the relationship between his studio and Bethesda Softworks during the development of Fallout: New Vegas. According to Avellone, Bethesda executives were openly critical of the game and its Dead Money downloadable content in an internal PowerPoint presentation.

"They weren't fans of the game or the DLC," Avellone stated, referring to Bethesda's alleged response to Fallout: New Vegas after its release.

The revelation sheds new light on the complex partnership between the two studios, with Obsidian having developed Fallout: New Vegas under license from Bethesda, who owns the Fallout intellectual property. Despite the game eventually becoming a cult classic with strong fan support, Avellone's comments suggest tension behind the scenes regarding creative direction and reception.
