Offset Claims Weed Shop Guard Started Altercation That Led to Assault Lawsuit

Offset is pushing back against a lawsuit filed by a security guard, alleging the guard provoked the fight at a Los Angeles cannabis dispensary last year.

In legal documents obtained by TMZ, the Migos rapper denies all allegations of wrongdoing in the case brought by guard Jim Sanchez. Offset asserts he is not liable for any claimed damages and is asking the court to dismiss the lawsuit entirely.

The incident allegedly took place in March 2025 at MedMen LAX, a marijuana shop near Los Angeles International Airport. Sanchez claims Offset became hostile and verbally confrontational after being asked to show identification. According to the suit, the rapper struck Sanchez in the face, and others in Offset's entourage joined the attack. Sanchez says he was hospitalized and continues to suffer from headaches and neck pain, seeking unspecified damages for assault, battery, and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

Offset's representative previously countered that the guard initiated the altercation, alleging Sanchez spat on the rapper. Offset was charged with a misdemeanor count of simple battery, but an arrest warrant was recalled after his attorney appeared in court to enter a not-guilty plea.
