Open Source AI Game Jam Crowns 'Snip It' as Grand Prize Winner

The first Open Source AI Game Jam, held from July 7th to July 11th, challenged developers to create innovative games in just 48 hours using at least one open-source AI tool. With over 1,300 sign-ups and 88 game submissions, the event showcased a remarkable range of creativity.

The Theme: Expanding

Participants were asked to interpret the theme of "Expanding" in any way they saw fit, leading to a diverse set of entries. Games were judged on fun, creativity, and adherence to the theme, with the top 10 advancing to a panel of three judges.

The Winner ๐Ÿ†๐Ÿฅ‡

After careful deliberation, the judges selected Snip It by ohmlet as the overall winner. In this AI-generated game, players visit a museum where paintings come to life. The objective is to snip objects within the paintings to uncover hidden secrets. The game uses Stable Diffusion for asset generation.
