Otter, the AI meeting notetaker, is evolving beyond transcription with a new enterprise search feature that lets users query data from integrated tools like Gmail, Google Drive, Notion, Jira, and Salesforce alongside existing meeting records. The company announced it will soon add support for Microsoft Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, and Slack.
By acting as a Model Context Protocol (MCP) client, Otter can pull in data from external apps using a standardized AI interface. This move follows similar plays by competitors Read AI, Fireflies.ai, and Fathom, as notetaking apps aim to become centralized knowledge workspaces.
Otter, nearly a decade old, has been pivoting toward enterprise productivity. Last October, it introduced custom MCPs for organizations to connect proprietary data sources. The new search capability is available now to Otter Business and Enterprise subscribers.
