Pari Kim, known for her appearance on Netflix's Love on the Spectrum, is grieving the death of her mother, Esme, following a battle with stage 4 breast cancer. Esme was 61.
The 24-year-old reality star shared the heartbreaking news in an emotional Instagram post on Wednesday night. She opened up about the overwhelming grief of losing both parents at a young age, writing, "It feels like everything is becoming a train wreck." Pari described the struggle between mourning and trying to stay positive enough to move forward.
Trains have long been a significant part of Pari's life — she is known for her deep passion for railroads and public transit. Staying with her metaphor, she added, "It's difficult to keep chugging along when your guardian locomotive reaches the end of the line, but you have to keep going somehow even without her."
In a subsequent Instagram Story, Pari reminded followers to cherish their loving parents while they can, noting that "time is precious" and that she never expected to lose both parents so young. Her father, Henry, passed away suddenly in 2020 at age 55.
Several of Pari's Love on the Spectrum castmates offered their support in the comments. Madison Marilla wrote that Esme "fought very hard," while Abbey Romeo expressed a desire to give Pari a big hug.
This loss comes just weeks after Pari revealed her breakup with ex-girlfriend Tina Zhu Xi Caruso, saying they were "two trains on different tracks."
