PCSO Boosts Emergency Response in Nabas, Aklan with Medical and Rescue Gear

The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) has turned over a batch of medical and rescue equipment to the local government unit (LGU) of Nabas in Aklan province, strengthening the town's capability to respond to emergencies and disasters.

The donation includes medical supplies, stretchers, first aid kits, and rescue tools that will be used by the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) and the local health office.

“This initiative is part of PCSO's commitment to support local governments in enhancing their disaster preparedness and healthcare services,” said PCSO General Manager Melquiades Robles in a statement.

Nabas Mayor Fortunato “Jun” C. Chavez Jr. expressed gratitude for the assistance, noting that the equipment will greatly benefit the community, especially in times of calamities and medical emergencies.

“We thank PCSO for this timely and much-needed aid. Our municipality is prone to typhoons and other natural hazards, so having these resources is vital for our rescue and medical teams,” Chavez said.

Earlier, PCSO also provided similar aid to other municipalities in the province as part of its nationwide outreach program.
