Philippines Urges Vietnam for Fairer Rice Trade Practices

The Philippines' Department of Agriculture (DA) is advocating for more equitable rice trade mechanisms with Vietnam to address recurring issues in the implementation of bilateral agricultural trade agreements. Agriculture Secretary Francisco Tiu Laurel Jr. expressed that a key concern involves Vietnamese exporters frequently canceling supply contracts during periods of rising rice prices. The DA is working to strengthen the terms of trade to ensure stability and fairness for both nations.
