Pink Floyd Unveils '8-Tracks': A Sonic Journey Through Their 1970s Heyday

Legendary rock pioneers Pink Floyd have announced a new compilation album titled '8-Tracks,' set to spotlight the band's transformative era from 1971 to 1979. The collection is scheduled for release on June 5 via Sony Music, available on vinyl, CD, and digital platforms.

This curated selection features eight definitive tracks that propelled the group to global superstardom. Among the highlights are fan favorites like 'Money,' 'Wish You Were Here,' 'Another Brick In The Wall, Part 2,' 'Time,' and 'Comfortably Numb.' The album also includes earlier gems 'One Of These Days' and 'Wot's… Uh The Deal,' along with an exclusive full version of 'Pigs On The Wing'—previously only available on the 1977 'Animals' eight-track cartridge.

Renowned musician and producer Steven Wilson has meticulously edited the track sequence, weaving in sound effects sourced from the original multitracks to create a seamless, immersive listening experience. An official description notes:

"'8-Tracks' documents the full measure of Pink Floyd's transition into their breakthrough era, propelled into superstardom throughout the 1970s."

Pre-orders for the compilation are now available, offering fans a fresh opportunity to revisit the band's most iconic period through a newly crafted auditory lens.
