Pioneer Insurance and Whoscall Join Forces to Deploy AI Against Scams

In a first for the Philippine insurance industry, Pioneer Insurance has partnered with Whoscall, a leading caller identification and spam-blocking app, to offer AI-powered digital protection against scams. The collaboration aims to equip policyholders with advanced tools to detect and avoid fraudulent calls, messages, and phishing attempts.

Through the partnership, Pioneer Insurance customers will gain access to Whoscall's AI-driven features, including real-time scam detection, number lookup, and automatic blocking of suspected spam. The service is designed to complement traditional insurance products by proactively preventing digital fraud before it leads to financial loss.

"This initiative reflects our commitment to innovation and customer safety," said a Pioneer Insurance spokesperson. "By integrating Whoscall's AI technology, we are providing an extra layer of defense in the digital age."

Whoscall, developed by Gogolook, uses machine learning to analyze call and message patterns, identifying potential scams with high accuracy. The app has been widely adopted across Asia for its effectiveness in reducing unwanted communications.

The joint offering will be available to both new and existing policyholders, with no additional premium required for the basic protection features. Enhanced options may be offered as part of add-on packages.

Industry analysts view this move as a strategic response to the rising tide of cybercrime in the Philippines, where scam calls and text messages have become increasingly sophisticated. By bundling digital protection with insurance, Pioneer is setting a precedent for other insurers to follow.
