Sony has announced that it will raise the prices of its one-month and three-month PlayStation Plus subscriptions in select regions, effective May 20th. The company cited "ongoing market conditions" as the reason for the increase.
Starting this week, a one-month Essential tier subscription will cost $10.99 in the US, €9.99 in Europe, and £7.99 in the UK. Three-month subscriptions will rise to $27.99, €27.99, and £21.99 respectively. In the US, that's a $1 increase for the monthly plan and a $3 increase for the quarterly plan.
It remains unclear whether other PlayStation Plus tiers or longer-term subscriptions will also see price adjustments. Sony's move follows a broader trend of subscription price hikes across the gaming industry.
