Philippine telecom giant PLDT has expressed confidence in its position despite the increasing number of satellite connectivity providers entering the market. The company believes its established infrastructure and customer base will allow it to remain competitive.
“We are not fazed by the new players,” a PLDT spokesperson said. “Our network and service quality give us an edge.”
The entry of satellite-based internet services has been seen as a potential disruptor, especially in remote areas. However, PLDT is focusing on enhancing its fiber-optic network and expanding coverage to maintain its leadership.
The company also highlighted its investments in 5G and other technologies to deliver faster and more reliable connectivity to both urban and rural customers.
