Polymarket Accused of Paying for Fake Betting Videos

A Wall Street Journal investigation has revealed that Polymarket, a prediction market platform, reportedly paid individuals to create and post fake videos showing themselves placing and winning bets. According to the report, the clips—over 1,100 in total—depicted users celebrating substantial wins, including one where a person appeared to win $900,000 on a bet that would have actually lost $166,000. Creators who spoke to the Journal confirmed they were compensated by Polymarket for these deceptive posts, but did not disclose the sponsorship in the videos.
