Portugal's 2026 World Cup campaign got off to a disappointing start as they were held to a 1-1 draw by DR Congo in their opening qualifier.
Joao Neves gave Portugal an early lead, but Yoane Wissa struck in first-half injury time to level the score. Despite dominating possession, Portugal could not find a winner in the second half, with DR Congo's defense holding firm.
The result leaves Portugal with work to do in the remaining qualifiers to secure a spot in the 2026 World Cup.
