Fans of the iconic 2000s MTV reality series Laguna Beach noticed a glaring absence on the red carpet for the show's upcoming reunion special: Lo Bosworth. Now, the former reality star is opening up about the daunting medical reason that kept her away from the Los Angeles premiere.
In a TikTok video shared on March 27, Bosworth revealed that complications from the recent birth of her daughter grounded her in New York City.
"No, I'm not at the Laguna press day, not because I don't want to be there," the 39-year-old explained. "I just had a baby, and I have to get some placenta removed next week—surgically—that was accidentally left behind."
Bosworth and her husband, Domenic Natale, welcomed their daughter, Nelle, earlier this year in January. Despite dealing with the stressful postpartum complication, the new mom still found a way to support her former classmates from afar. Honoring the reunion's red carpet color scheme, she posted a photo of herself wearing a coordinated outfit, noting that she was dressed in black and white "in solidarity" and sending her love from the East Coast.
While Bosworth cheered them on from afar, her former castmates—including Stephen Colletti, Lauren Conrad, and Kristin Cavallari—reunited in Los Angeles to promote The Reunion: Laguna Beach, which is set to premiere on The Roku Channel on April 10.
The gathering also served as a milestone for Conrad and Cavallari, whose notorious teenage love triangle with Colletti fueled much of the drama on the original series. Two decades later, the women have officially put their high school feud behind them.
"I think it's important, especially for women, to find common ground and lift each other up," Conrad shared at the premiere. "In this reunion we both talk about our biggest regrets or the way we spoke about each other, the way we treated each other, and we both are such different people now."
Cavallari echoed those sentiments, expressing gratitude for the chance to connect with her former on-screen rival with a fresh perspective.
"Having an hour with someone where it's just girl chat, I really feel like I got to know her now as an adult," Cavallari noted. "I respect Lauren on so many different levels and I really enjoy being around her. So, it's been really nice. Who would have thought?"
