CCTV footage has captured the harrowing moment a high school principal in Oklahoma bravely tackled an armed former student who opened fire inside the school.
The incident occurred on April 7 at Pauls Valley High School when Victor Hawkins, a former student, entered the building and began shooting. In the security footage, Principal Kirk Moore is seen charging toward Hawkins without hesitation, bringing him to the ground in a decisive tackle. Another staff member quickly arrived to disarm Hawkins, removing the weapon from his hand.
"Principal Moore was shot in the leg during the confrontation but has since been treated and released from the hospital," authorities confirmed.
Hawkins was arrested at the scene and now faces multiple charges including two counts of pointing a firearm, one count of shooting with intent to kill, and two counts of unlawful carrying. The swift actions of Principal Moore and other staff members are credited with preventing what could have been a much more tragic outcome.
