Promoter Nakisa Bidarian Backs Gina Carano for a Comeback After Rousey Defeat

Despite a first-round loss to Ronda Rousey at MVP MMA 1, Gina Carano has the backing of Most Valuable Promotions (MVP) to step back into the cage. Co-founder and CEO Nakisa Bidarian says the promotion is eager to see Carano fight again.

Speaking exclusively to TMZ Sports, Bidarian called the event a "tremendous success" and praised the 17 million viewers who tuned in on Netflix. He noted that while the Carano-Rousey bout was one-sided, Carano's legacy in women's MMA makes her a valuable draw.

"Gina is a pioneer," Bidarian said. "She showed incredible heart, and we would absolutely welcome her back. There's unfinished business there."

The promoter also hinted at a rematch between Mike Perry and Nate Diaz, two fighters who delivered a fan-friendly brawl on the same card. MVP plans to continue hosting MMA events, building on the momentum from the debut.

Bidarian dismissed criticism that Carano was outmatched, pointing out that Rousey is one of the greatest ever. He remains focused on growing the promotion and giving fighters like Carano a platform.
