Prosecutors have filed new documents alleging that singer D4vd purchased two chainsaws and a shovel after stabbing 14-year-old Celeste Rivas to death at his Hollywood Hills home.
According to court filings, D4vd (real name David Burke) ordered an Uber to bring Rivas from her family's home in Lake Elsinore, California, to his residence on April 23, 2025. Once there, prosecutors claim he stabbed her and then stood by as she bled out.
The following day, authorities allege, he ordered a shovel from Home Depot via Postmates. About a week later, on May 1, he purchased two chainsaws from Amazon, followed by a body bag, heavy-duty laundry bags, and a blue inflatable pool on May 5. All purchases were made under the fake name "Victoria Mendez," according to prosecutors.
Investigators claim D4vd placed Rivas's body in the inflatable pool to contain the blood, then used a chainsaw and other tools to dismember her. Specifically, prosecutors allege he amputated the ring and pinky fingers on her left hand because she had a tattoo of his name on her ring finger — which has not been recovered.
When detectives searched D4vd's rental home in September 2025, they found "evidence consistent with the dismemberment of the victim's body in the inflatable pool, which contained multiple linear cuts," the documents state. The medical examiner's report noted blue plastic fragments, consistent with the pool material, embedded in Rivas's body parts.
Prosecutors say D4vd first met Rivas in 2022 when she was 11, and their sexual relationship began in November 2023 when she was 13 and he was 18. D4vd has pleaded not guilty to murder and other charges.
