The Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Jassim al-Budaiwi, has issued an urgent appeal to the international community to secure vital Middle Eastern maritime routes.
Directing his demands at the United Nations Security Council, al-Budaiwi called for immediate and decisive intervention to halt Iranian attacks in the region. The GCC leader stressed that it is the fundamental responsibility of the UN to guarantee safe and "uninterrupted navigation through all strategic waterways."
This pressing request underscores escalating regional concerns over maritime security in the Gulf. As one of the world's most critical chokepoints for global trade and energy distribution, the continued stability of these shipping lanes remains a paramount priority for the GCC and international markets alike.
