Britain's Emma Raducanu has powered into the quarter-finals of the Queen's Club Championship, securing a commanding straight-sets victory over Romania's Sorana Cirstea. The former US Open champion showed her class on the grass courts, winning 6-3, 6-4 in a match that lasted just over an hour.
Raducanu's aggressive baseline play and sharp return game proved too much for Cirstea, who struggled to find rhythm against the Briton's pace. The 22-year-old broke serve early in both sets and maintained her composure to close out the match without facing a break point.
"I'm really pleased with how I played today," Raducanu said in her on-court interview. "Sorana is a tough opponent, but I focused on my own game and it worked well."
Next up, Raducanu will face either top seed Jessica Pegula or local favorite Katie Boulter for a place in the semi-finals. The Queen's Club event has seen strong performances from British players this week, with Raducanu leading the charge.
