Rangers' Rohl Focuses on Own Path as Team Claims Scottish Premiership Summit

Rangers have surged to the top of the Scottish Premiership for the first time in two seasons following a 4-2 victory over Dundee United at Ibrox. The win, which featured a dynamic attacking performance, propelled the team past Hearts on goal difference, erasing a 13-point deficit from earlier in the campaign.

Head coach Danny Rohl expressed satisfaction with the result but revealed his unconventional approach to the title race. He plans to ignore Sunday's pivotal fixtures involving rivals Hearts and Celtic entirely.

"I will do the same as the last matchday," Rohl stated. "I put my phone off, no ticker, no live score. Last time, I got a message from my assistant coach saying 'did you see the result?'. I said 'no, what happened?' He said 'great result'. So I will do exactly the same and maybe three times in a row it will happen. I'm not available this time on Sunday."

The German coach emphasized that his team's destiny is in their own hands, with a simple yet challenging objective.

"We have to be on the front foot and if we win six games then we will have something at the end of the season," Rohl added. "I am really convinced that my players have the potential to do this."

Key attacking contributions fueled the crucial win. Thelo Aasgaard, often criticized in his debut season, was instrumental, involved in three goals and scoring the third. Substitute Djeidi Gassama provided a spark, assisting Aasgaard, while Ryan Naderi netted his first league goal before exiting with a first-half injury.

Despite the celebratory mood, Rohl acknowledged the difficult road ahead, starting with a challenging away fixture at Falkirk next week. Rangers' position at the summit is precarious; Hearts can reclaim top spot with a result against bottom-side Livingston on Sunday. However, Rohl's focus remains firmly on his own squad's performance, not the scorelines elsewhere.
