Rangers Strike Deal for Hearts' McInnes as New Head Coach

According to multiple reports, Rangers have reached an agreement with Hearts to appoint Derek McInnes as their new head coach, replacing Danny Rohl who is set to join RB Salzburg.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reported on X that Rangers have finalized a deal for McInnes. Sky Sports adds that McInnes has agreed in principle to leave Hearts and take over at Ibrox. The Scottish Sun claims Rangers chairman Andrew Cavenagh will pay a significant six-figure compensation fee to secure McInnes from Hearts.

The Herald states that McInnes will sign a three-year contract once he officially replaces Rohl. Meanwhile, Celtic are reportedly close to signing Swiss striker Elias Filet from FC Aarau for a relatively cheap fee, as per Football Insider. Former Rangers boss Russell Martin is expected to be announced as the new Leicester City head coach next week, according to Fabrizio Romano.
