Rapper Offset Hospitalized After Shooting at Florida Casino Valet

Rapper Offset is recovering in a Florida hospital after being shot outside a Hollywood casino on Saturday evening, according to his representative.

Offset, whose real name is Kiari Kendrell Cephus, was shot in the valet area of the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino around 7 p.m. on April 6. His spokesperson confirmed to TMZ that the Migos rapper is "stable and being closely monitored" at the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

"The situation was contained quickly," a Seminole County Police spokesperson told media. "The site is secure and there is no threat to the public. Operations continue as normal."

Authorities have made two arrests in connection with the shooting, though details about suspects or motives remain undisclosed as the investigation continues.

The 34-year-old artist, who shares three children with ex-wife Cardi B and has three other children from previous relationships, is expected to make a full recovery.

This incident marks another tragic connection to gun violence for the Migos hip-hop collective. In 2022, Offset's bandmate Takeoff was fatally shot outside a Houston club at age 28. Offset has previously spoken about the difficulty of processing that loss.

"It's hard for me to talk about this stuff," Offset told Variety in 2023 regarding Takeoff's death. "That s--t hurts. I get through my day thinking it's fake."

Despite the traumatic event, medical professionals indicate Offset's injuries are not life-threatening, and he remains under close observation at the hospital.
