Former Migos rapper Offset was shot outside a Florida casino on Monday evening, but is now in stable condition, according to reports.
Police confirmed the incident occurred around 7 p.m. at the valet area of Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood. The Seminole Police Department stated that two individuals have been detained in connection with the shooting, which resulted in non-life threatening injuries.
"The investigation is ongoing," police officials noted.
Offset, whose real name is Kiari Kendrell Cephus, is being "closely monitored" in hospital, a spokesperson told Variety. The 34-year-old artist gained fame as part of the influential hip-hop trio Migos alongside Quavo and Takeoff.
The shooting comes less than two years after Migos member Takeoff was fatally shot at a bowling alley in Houston, Texas in November 2022. His record label had described that incident as "senseless violence" that took "another life from this world."
Offset has been married to rapper Cardi B since 2017, though the couple separated and filed for divorce earlier this year. They share three children together.
Migos first rose to prominence with their 2013 viral hit "Versace" and reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 with "Bad and Boujee" in 2017. The group, often cited as one of the most influential of their generation, split in early 2022, with Quavo and Takeoff forming the duo Unc & Phew while Offset pursued a solo career.
