Square Enix has launched a unique real-life mystery-solving game called 'Catrip' that blends tourism with puzzle challenges. Designed for mystery enthusiasts, the game invites participants to explore real city streets using a special puzzle kit and a navigation character named Nyaoyorozu, who guides players through the story.

The first installment, set in Tokyo's Ueno district, features puzzles crafted by RIDDLER, a team led by renowned puzzle creator Ryogo Matsumaru. As players solve mysteries, they earn 'cat stamps' depicting famous local landmarks. Additionally, digital coupons obtained by completing puzzles offer discounts at partner shops, transforming a routine walk into a special experience.

Nyaoyorozu's design was created by Ryoma Ito, an artist involved in 'Final Fantasy XII's development. Each area will feature different creators, ensuring fresh puzzles and artistic styles. The game aims to make urban exploration more engaging through brain-teasing challenges.
