Former Shahs of Sunset personality Reza Farahan has unveiled intimate details about his past relationships in his newly released memoir, Memoirs of a Gay Shah: My Story of Family, Fame, and Becoming a King. The most startling revelation involves a romantic entanglement with celebrity fitness trainer Bob Harper, best known from The Biggest Loser, and Harper's late husband, Scott.
Farahan, 52, describes developing a deep friendship with the couple that eventually evolved into a sexual relationship. "Bob and I still ended up falling totally in love," Farahan writes. He recounts a period where Harper was "bouncing back and forth between Scott and me," characterizing the dynamic as a threesome.
The story concludes on a somber note. "Poor Scott, who I honestly harbored no ill will toward even though I was chasing his husband, ended up passing away," Farahan shares. Despite the romantic relationship not enduring, he notes that he and Harper "remain friends to this day."
Representatives for Bob Harper have not yet responded to requests for comment regarding these claims.
The memoir doesn't stop there. Farahan also discloses a teenage sexual encounter with his longtime friend and Shahs of Sunset co-star, Mercedes "MJ" Javid. He describes an incident during a shared shower in high school that unexpectedly turned intimate. "The shower went on longer and got a lot steamier than either of us had initially intended," he writes, calling it "fun times with my bestie."
Farahan is currently married to husband Adam Neely, while MJ announced her divorce from Tommy Feight in late 2025. Bob Harper has been married to Anton Gutierrez since 2019.
The book places Farahan among a growing list of celebrities publicly sharing private chapters of their lives, offering an unfiltered look into the personal histories behind reality TV fame.
