Kelsey Swanson, a cast member on Bravo's new reality series Real Housewives of Rhode Island, has publicly addressed a recent rumor alleging she worked as an escort prior to joining the show.
A report surfaced on social media claiming Swanson, 31, was listed under the alias "Alexia Lins" on a now-defunct website in 2016, with service rates reportedly ranging from $500 to $2,900. The former Miss Rhode Island contestant swiftly denied the allegations.
"Had to comment on this one," Swanson wrote in an Instagram response. "Never have been an escort. Pages were completely made up 10 years ago. State police were involved. Thanks for sharing tho."
While setting the record straight about her past, Swanson is also offering viewers a glimpse into her current personal life on the show, which premiered April 2. She revealed she has been in a decade-long relationship with an unidentified multimillionaire, describing the arrangement as "very unorthodox."
In a confessional, Swanson explained, "This man dates multiple people. For the first half of the year, my man is in Miami and, when he's in Miami, he's with somebody else."
She admitted the non-exclusive dynamic isn't her ideal, but she's hesitant to leave the luxurious lifestyle he provides. "I want to be in a committed relationship with one person, but at this stage in his life, there's not one thing he's going to change," she shared. "He is who he is, and either I accept it, or I have to leave."
However, previews for the season suggest Swanson's romantic life may involve more than one partner. In a teaser, she declared, "The two people in my life are the most wonderful people ever," prompting costar Rosie DiMare to exclaim, "Now you're saying that you do have two boyfriends. Like, what?!"
The Real Housewives of Rhode Island airs Thursdays at 9 p.m. on Bravo.
