Rio Locsin Shares Surprise Reunion with Ex-Husband Al Tantay on Set of 'The Master Cutter'

Rio Locsin recently revealed her unexpected encounter with her former husband, Al Tantay, on the set of the upcoming Kapuso action series "The Master Cutter."

During her guest appearance on "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda" this Tuesday, the veteran actress shared how the reunion unfolded. "We met during the taping of 'Master Cutter.' I was surprised because they didn't tell me beforehand," Locsin said. "Of course, we greeted each other."

The two were married in their youth during the peak of their careers but eventually separated after several years. Despite their split, Locsin emphasized that they maintain a cordial relationship.

"We don't call or text each other regularly, but when we see each other, we greet and exchange pleasantries," she explained.

Regarding their parenting dynamic, Locsin clarified that they were not co-parents in the traditional sense, but Tantay was never neglectful. "During special occasions, he makes sure to see our children and take them out," she said.

Locsin is currently married to basketball player Padim Israel, and together they have three children.

"The Master Cutter" also stars Dingdong Dantes, Max Collins, Shuvee Etrata, Sienna Stevens, Jo Berry, Polo Ravales, and Ketchup Eusebio. The series will premiere on GMA Prime on May 11, 2026, and will be available on Netflix starting May 8.
