Royal Radiance: King Charles and Queen Camilla Shine at White House State Dinner with Trump Family

King Charles III and Queen Camilla brought a touch of British elegance to Washington, D.C., as they joined President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump for a state dinner at the White House on April 28.

The event was part of a historic state visit marking 250 years since the American colonies declared independence from Britain. Queen Camilla dazzled in a bright pink Fiona Clare gown, featuring an embroidered top and a flowing pleated skirt. She accessorized with an amethyst and diamond necklace from the Kent Amethyst Demi-Parure collection, a piece that once belonged to Queen Victoria and dates back to 1818.

Melania Trump complemented the royal's choice with a blush-colored, one-shoulder Dior gown, complete with draping along the bodice and skirt. She finished her look with white Dior suede gloves. Both King Charles and President Trump opted for classic black tail tuxedos and white bowties.

The state visit, which began on April 27, celebrated the deep historical ties and modern partnership between the U.K. and the U.S. King Charles made history by becoming the second British monarch to address a joint meeting of Congress, following his mother Queen Elizabeth II's 1991 speech. "Whatever our differences, whatever disagreements we may have, we stand united in our commitment to uphold democracy," Charles told Congress.

During the visit, the king met with President Trump in the Oval Office, while Queen Camilla and the first lady joined students learning about American and British history with the help of virtual reality headsets and AI-enabled glasses.

The royal couple's visit highlighted the enduring special relationship between the two nations, with King Charles noting, "to protect all our people from harm and to salute the courage of those who daily risk their lives in the service of our countries."
