More than two decades after a life-altering injury left him ventilator-dependent, former England Under-21 rugby star Matt Hampson is gearing up to tackle the 2026 London Marathon, which he calls his 'Everest.'
Navigating the 26.2-mile course in a custom racing chair, Hampson will be supported by a dedicated team that includes former jockey Sir AP McCoy. His mission extends beyond personal achievement: he aims to raise funds and awareness for the Matt Hampson Foundation, which supports young people facing similar challenges.
'This is my Everest,' Hampson said, reflecting on the monumental effort required.
