The stage victory went to another Russian rider, Ivan Petrov, who broke away in the final kilometers to secure his first win of the tour. His powerful sprint left the chasing group unable to respond, cementing Russia's dominance on the day.
With the general classification still tight, Shulchenko expressed confidence in his team's strategy moving forward. "We have a strong squad, and everyone is focused on defending the jersey," he said after the stage.
The Tour of Luzon continues with Stage 5, which is expected to test climbers with a hilly finish. Shulchenko will aim to extend his lead as the race approaches its conclusion.
