Reality television star Sadie Robertson has shared a harrowing account of her 8-month-old daughter Kit's medical emergency that unfolded during a family vacation.
In an Instagram post on April 12, the Duck Dynasty alumna described the terrifying moment when her infant daughter began choking while eating in her high chair. "Within seconds, you could tell the severity of the situation," Robertson wrote. "My mom pulled her from the high chair and placed my girl into my arms just as she stopped breathing."
Robertson, who is also mother to daughters Honey (4) and Haven (2), immediately sprang into action alongside family members. "Everyone went into action and into prayer," she recounted. "Mom called 911, I started CPR, and everyone began to pray out loud and move the other kids downstairs."
The 28-year-old credits her preparedness for the crisis to having previously watched instructional videos about infant choking emergencies. "I can only explain it now like my body just knew what to do," she explained. "I felt God's Spirit guiding me, partnering with me in what I had learned and seen. I remember saying out loud, 'what do I do?' and then immediately started doing it and declaring life."

Miraculously, as paramedics arrived at the scene, Kit "coughed and began to breathe." The infant was transported to a hospital where she remained overnight for observation.
Robertson emphasized her motivation for sharing the traumatic experience was to encourage others to learn emergency response procedures. "I want to use my platform to be authentic and helpful to others," she stated in a follow-up Instagram post on April 13.
The reality star noted the incident occurred "within the first hour" of their family vacation, adding that the remainder of their trip was spent "soaking in gratitude and rest in the miracle" while also processing the emotional aftermath. "We had to work through a lot of anxiety and tears," Robertson acknowledged. "Just gotta keep it real, because of course that's unseen in pictures."
Robertson and her husband Christian Huff welcomed their third daughter, Kit, in August 2025. The couple has been open about their family life on social media, frequently sharing moments of their growing family.
