Sam Altman's Eyeball-Scanning Startup Falsely Claims Bruno Mars Partnership

Sam Altman’s biometric identification company, Tools for Humanity, promoted a nonexistent partnership with Bruno Mars for concert ticket verification, according to the singer's management and Live Nation.

Last week, the startup announced a new product called Concert Kit, designed to allow verified humans to purchase concert tickets. The company stated it would first roll out on Bruno Mars’ world tour for his album The Romantic.

However, in a joint statement to WIRED, Bruno Mars Management and Live Nation, producer of the Romantic Tour, clarified that “the partnership does not exist” and that Tools for Humanity never approached them about working together.

The confusion arose from a Tools for Humanity event on April 17 in San Francisco, where chief product officer Tiago Sada claimed the company would join the Romantic Tour to provide not only ticket access but also “VIP experiences for verified humans.”

Tools for Humanity, known for its eyeball-scanning Orb devices, has not yet responded to requests for comment.
