Sam Asghari Backs Britney Spears' Decision to Seek Treatment After DUI Arrest

Sam Asghari is voicing his support for Britney Spears as she voluntarily checks into a treatment facility following her March DUI arrest.

The Traitors alum, who was married to Spears for 14 months before their 2024 divorce, told TMZ on April 22 that he's glad to see her focusing on "healing and great things."

"I think it's great," Asghari said. "And as long as the person is in charge of that, it's all good."

This sentiment aligns with that of Spears' other ex-husband, Kevin Federline, with whom she shares sons Sean Preston, 20, and Jayden James, 19. Federline's attorney, Mark Vincent Kaplan, noted that Federline is "happy that she is getting help" and that the decision appears to be voluntary. "The key is that whatever the recommended treatment plan is that she follows it and completes it," Kaplan added.

Spears was arrested for DUI in California on March 4. Following her release, a spokesperson for the singer described the incident as "unfortunate" and "completely inexcusable," adding that Spears is committed to "taking the right steps and complying with the law."

Asghari, who has not spoken directly to Spears since the arrest, emphasized the importance of her privacy. "I think privacy is the most important thing when it comes to that," he said. "She deserves the privacy she deserves." He previously told E! News he wishes her "the most success and recovery."
