A 12-year-old boy in Melbourne, Australia, narrowly escaped serious injury after being dragged approximately 350 meters by a moving bus, with his arm and school bag trapped in the rear doors.
CCTV footage from the incident in Wheelers Hill shows the boy dangling perilously from the back of the bus as it traveled down a suburban street. The boy was uninjured, but the incident has sparked outrage from his family.
His mother collected the footage and shared it on social media, accusing bus company Ventura of negligence. In response, a Ventura spokesperson told the Australian Broadcasting Corporation that the driver had been dismissed following an internal investigation.
"This is a very distressing incident, and we will continue to support the passenger and family at this time," the spokesperson said.
