Pop superstar Sia has reached a significant financial agreement in her ongoing divorce proceedings, committing to pay her estranged husband, Dan Bernad, $42,500 per month in child support for their son, Somersault.
According to recently obtained legal documents, the monthly payments are scheduled to begin on April 1, 2026, and will be delivered consistently on the first of each month. The arrangement comes after months of contentious legal battles between the two parties.
"The custody split is locked in too—with the couple sharing legal custody and splitting up holidays," the documents reveal.
The holiday schedule allocates Hanukkah and Father's Day to Bernad, while Sia retains Christmas, Easter, and Mother's Day with their child.
This settlement represents a major step forward in resolving what has been described as a "messy divorce and custody fight" between the singer and her former partner. Sia has been represented throughout the proceedings by prominent divorce attorney Laura Wasser, known for handling high-profile celebrity cases.
While the financial terms have now been established, the couple continues to navigate the broader divorce process, which has included previous allegations and counter-allegations regarding parenting and personal conduct. The child support agreement suggests both parties are moving toward a more structured co-parenting arrangement for their son's wellbeing.
