In an April 27 TikTok video, the Olympic gymnast asked her followers if such expenses are typical. "I know going outside is expensive, but is it this expensive?" she said, noting she's been "spiraling" since the bill.
While Biles didn't specify the event, she made it clear she's questioning the new normal. "If that's the new norm, y'all can have it. Y’all will never see me at another event. I'm going to sit my ass right here where it's free."
She also addressed potential price gouging in the caption: "Also kinda wack when they double or triple the price because of your name. This didn’t happen this time but it has before."
Fellow Olympian Mikaela Shiffrin echoed Biles' sentiment, commenting, "Girl, I’ve been wondering the same."
