Olympic gymnastics legend Simone Biles has revealed she suffered a severe health scare this week that left her feeling like she was on the brink of death.
In a series of posts to her Instagram Story on Saturday, the 11-time Olympic medalist shared that she experienced a medical crisis that she described as "one of, if not the scariest experience of my life."
While Biles did not disclose the specifics of her condition, she wrote that she is now resting in bed and plans to share more details in the future. "Almost dying wasn't on my bingo card earlier this week," she quipped.
The 29-year-old athlete noted that the incident was especially frightening because her husband, NFL safety Jonathan Owens, was absent at the time—training with the Indianapolis Colts in Indianapolis.
Biles thanked her close friends for their flowers and well-wishes, and posted two photos: one showing a bouquet of flowers, and another depicting a bed, her two dogs, and a heart monitor.
