Snooki Opens Up About Discussing Her Cancer Diagnosis with Her Children

Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi is sharing an intimate look at how she broke the news of her cervical cancer diagnosis to her three kids. The Jersey Shore star, who will soon undergo a hysterectomy after being diagnosed with stage 1 cervical cancer, revealed that her children had many questions—including whether she might die.

"I said that mommy has this and has to get surgery and I'm gonna be fine," Snooki told E! News at the Jersey Shore: Family Vacation final season premiere on April 23. "But my oldest was like, 'Are you going to heaven? Are you dying?'"

Her eldest son, Lorenzo, 13, even tried to lighten the mood with a joke, asking if she would "leave him something." Snooki emphasized that her main goal was to comfort her kids and reassure them. "My kids are funny and my kids are amazing," she said. "They realized that mommy has to be healthy and needs to get through these surgeries and everything is gonna be OK."

Preparing mentally and physically for the procedure, the 38-year-old is taking it "one step at a time." She found solace online after her diagnosis, turning to TikTok where she saw countless women sharing similar experiences. "That made me feel so cozy and like I'm going to be OK," she said. "I'm like, why is no one talking about this?"

Motivated by the support she found, Snooki decided to share her own journey publicly. "I'm gonna go on TikTok and say what I'm going through," she recalled thinking. "I feel like it was so relatable. We had a platform of women saying, 'I'm going through the same thing. Thank you so much. I'm going to get a hysterectomy, let's do it together.'"

As she focuses on her treatment, Snooki's openness continues to resonate with fans and others facing similar health battles.
