Sony Pictures has officially announced the development of an R-rated animated film adaptation of the acclaimed video game "Bloodborne," with popular YouTuber Jacksepticeye attached as a producer.
The project was revealed during Sony's presentation at CinemaCon, the annual convention for movie theater owners. The film will bring the dark, gothic horror world of the 2015 PlayStation exclusive to the big screen in animated form.
Jacksepticeye, whose real name is Sean McLoughlin, has built one of YouTube's largest gaming channels with over 30 million subscribers. His involvement marks a significant crossover between gaming content creation and major studio film production.
"Bloodborne" is known for its challenging gameplay, intricate lore, and haunting atmosphere set in the cursed city of Yharnam. The game has developed a cult following since its release and has been frequently requested for adaptation by fans.
No release date or additional casting information has been announced for the animated project, which represents Sony's continued expansion of its gaming properties into film and television.
