Soulja Boy's former girlfriend is taking legal steps to sell the rapper's music residuals in an effort to recover a multi-million dollar judgment she won against him.
According to court documents obtained by TMZ, a woman identified only as Jane Doe — who previously worked as Soulja Boy's assistant before beginning a two-year romantic relationship — has filed a notice declaring her intention to sell the rapper's rights to collect music royalties from Broadcast Music, Inc. (BMI). The notice states she plans to auction the residuals to the highest bidder, unless Soulja Boy objects.
Jane Doe was awarded nearly $4 million after a jury trial last year found Soulja Boy liable for sexual battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and other claims. The rapper's attorney at the time argued, "The evidence does not support the verdict."
In her lawsuit, Jane alleged that the relationship quickly turned abusive, claiming Soulja Boy once locked her in a room without food for days. The "Crank Dat" hitmaker denied all allegations, admitting to the relationship but insisting he hired her solely to roll his blunts.
The jury sided with Jane, and now she is actively pursuing collection of the judgment by targeting Soulja Boy's music residuals.
